1. Who we are

DPP Backup is the controller of the personal data collected on dppbackup.com. This policy covers the website only. Data kept in the DPP Backup service on behalf of our customers is covered by our agreement with them. You can reach us at:

DPP Backup
info@dppbackup.com

2. What we collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address, company (optional), topic and message.
  • Emails you send us: your email address and what you write.
  • Server logs: your IP address, browser, the pages you visit and when. Our web host records these automatically.
  • Security check on the contact form: Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the form is sent by a person. For this, Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical details about your browser and device while the contact page is open.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply to your message, based on the consent you give in the contact form (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), or our legitimate interest in answering emails (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • To run and protect the website, including the security check on the contact form, based on our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f)).

We never sell your data or use it for advertising, and we make no automated decisions about you.

4. Who receives it

Only the providers we need to run the website: our web host in Switzerland, which also hosts our mailbox, and an email delivery service in France that delivers contact form messages to our inbox, and Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., United States) for the security check on the contact form. The European Commission recognises Switzerland as providing adequate data protection. If a provider processes data anywhere else outside the EU, we protect it with the Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Each provider may use the data only to provide its service to us.

5. How long we keep it

  • Messages: as long as needed to reply and follow up, and no longer than 24 months.
  • Server logs: a short period set by our web host, then deleted automatically.

6. Cookies

This website does not use cookies. We don't use analytics, advertising or social media tracking, and our fonts are hosted on our own server. Because our own pages store nothing on your device, there is no cookie banner.

The security check on the contact page runs in a frame from Cloudflare, which may keep what it needs for that check on your device. It is strictly necessary to protect the form you are using, so it needs no consent. Cloudflare's privacy policy describes what it processes.

If we ever add cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and update this section.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy of it, and withdraw your consent at any time; withdrawing it does not affect what we did before. Email info@dppbackup.com and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live or work, or where you think the problem happened.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
